We are so excited to welcome you back for The Big Event for 2026! The Big Event is a huge citywide day of service led by University of Florida students to serve the Gainesville community. We promote the value of doing things for the “Gator Good” by giving students an opportunity to show appreciation through service to the Gainesville community for allowing the University of Florida to be a part of their family. The Big Event kicks off with an opening ceremony before a full day of service-oriented activities to help build a better and closer connected Gainesville. This year, The Big Event will take place on Saturday, March 7th. We could not be more excited to give back to Gainesville this year and can’t wait to see you all there!

One Big Thanks Conference 2026

January 30 - February 1

The University of Florida is thrilled to host the One Big Thanks Conference in Gainesville, Florida, from January 30–February 1. This conference brings together institutions from across the country for an inspiring weekend of learning, collaboration, and connection. Designed for student leaders and advisors, the conference focuses on sharing best practices, innovative strategies, and new ideas for planning and leading impactful service days on home campuses.

Participants will strengthen their leadership and networking skills throughout the experience, while advisors can expect engaging breakout sessions focused on supporting student leaders in their planning, development, and execution of meaningful service initiatives.

Dates: January 30 - February 1, 2026

Location: J. Wayne Reitz Union, University of Florida

Conference Hotel: Holiday Inn - University Avenue, 1250 W. University Ave, Gainesville, FL

Room Rate: $144 per night

Hotel booking block closes January 15 at midnight.

Delegate Applications

What is a Big Event Delegate?

Delegates will serve as liaisons and group leaders at the event. They are responsible for the registration of their organization and communicating any necessary information between The Big Event and their respective organization. The Delegate application is open now!
