The purpose of the UF Student Government Senate is to closely represent the views and ideas of the more than 50,000 students at the University of Florida.
Meetings are every Tuesday in the Senate Chamber at 7:30 PM during the Fall and Spring Semesters, and 7:00 PM during the Summer Semester. Meetings are open to the public and are livestreamed on the Senate Facebook page here.

Maya Idiculla
Senate President
Maya Idiculla, a senior from Tampa, Florida, currently serves as the Senate President at the University of Florida. She has previously served as Member at Large, Party Leader, and Budget and Appropriations Chairwoman, where she helped allocate $23.4 million to the university’s four core entities. She has also served on the Rules and Ethics Committee and the Replacement and Agenda Committee. As Chairwoman of the Reitz Union Board of Managers, Maya led initiatives that strengthened campus spaces and student engagement. She has served as a Director in the Panhellenic Council and the Indian Students Association, as well as President of Gators of Tomorrow. Maya is also a member of the Reitz Scholars Class of 2025–2026 and remains dedicated to fostering openness, empowerment, and connection across all branches of Student Government.

Matthew Bravo
Senate President Pro Tempore
Matthew Milton Bravo, a junior from Jacksonville, Florida, currently serves as the Senate President Pro Tempore at the University of Florida. He has held several leadership roles in Student Government, including Senate Judiciary Chairman, Freshman Class President, Vice President positions for both the Sophomore and Junior classes, as well as his continued involvement in several agencies. Outside of Student Government, Matthew is a proud member of Florida Blue Key, the Florida Cicerones, the 2024 Preview Staff, and the Delta Chi Fraternity. Alongside his service at the University of Florida, Matthew now finds purpose in supporting others facing similar battles as he does. As a current Hodgkin’s Lymphoma patient, he dedicates his community efforts to fundraising for blood cancer research and supporting fellow patients. Matthew remains committed to building a strong and fair University of Florida for all students.
